Getting started (https://www.mountainviewcounselingpa.com/start-therapy)is simple. You can complete our online enrollment form directly through our website at any time. Once submitted, a member of our team will review your information and reach out to discuss availability and next steps.
If you prefer, you’re also welcome to call our office and we’ll guide you through the process. We aim to make the first step as smooth and straightforward as possible.
In most cases, a referral is not required to begin therapy. You may reach out to us directly.
Some insurance plans occasionally require a referral from a primary care provider, so we encourage you to check with your insurance company if you’re unsure. If you have questions, our team is happy to help clarify.
We work with children, adolescents, and adults. Our clinicians have experience supporting clients across the lifespan, and we carefully consider age, developmental needs, and presenting concerns when matching clients with therapists.

We thoughtfully match clients with therapists based on several factors, including age, presenting concerns, scheduling availability, and therapeutic approach.
Availability can vary depending on the time of year, clinician caseloads, and specific needs. If we are unable to schedule immediately, we may offer placement on a waitlist and will communicate clearly about anticipated timeframes.
We strive to be transparent so you can make informed decisions about your care.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum. As progress is made, frequency may shift to biweekly or maintenance sessions depending on goals and clinical recommendations.
Therapy is collaborative, and scheduling decisions are made together.
Appointments are reserved in one-hour time blocks. Direct session time typically lasts about 53–55 minutes, which allows space for focused therapeutic work while also ensuring time for scheduling and necessary documentation.
